Pan African Soccer Tournament

Africa House International USA, Inc. (AIH) along with the World Soccer League will host a joint Pan-African Soccer Festival on Independence Day in Chicago’s Washington Park. Teams representing countries including Liberia, Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroon and more will compete in this annual 4th of July event. In addition to bragging rights, cash prizes will be awarded to the winning team. The event is a partnership between Africa International House USA, Inc. and the World Soccer League.

Additionally, the Gazelle Organization will host their 38th Annual July 4th Picnic in the park in conjunction with the Pan-African Soccer Festival. The event has drawn upwards of 5,000 attendees during its time in Jackson Park. The organization prides itself on its unique ability to bring Nigerians from various tribes/ethnicities together through its activities. The merging of these two unique and popular events is a celebration of citizenship for African families that have found a new home in Chicago and other Midwestern cities.

The free event is from 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. with tournament play beginning at 11:00 a.m. DJ Diesel and DJ Phlame will provide entertainment for the event. Additionally, there will be live performances by the Youth Soccer Academy and a children’s fashion show.
